About Olson Architects

Stephen Olson, founder of Olson Architects, obtained a degree in Architecture from Kent State University in Ohio with a semester abroad in Florence Italy. He has been licensed in the field since 1990. He began his career California in 1982 working for the Austin Company, a global design-build firm. To pursue his passion, Olson shortly started his own design build firm and eventually partnered with RCO Architects in Calabasas designing and managing high-end residential, apartment complexes, and commercial buildings. This led him to work with the top designer for Braun Company, owners of Jafra Cosmetics. His career also led Olson to work with prestigious architectural firms including [ArQUitectonica ], Dworsky Associates, HNTB and David O’Malley (former partner of Frank Geary). During this time, Stephen was an active member of the AIA in which he chaired the group for emerging architects and participated on the design awards committee. He has also been an active member on the Board of the MOCA Contemporaries, and an intern for the Board of Trustees for the Salvation Army – Los Angeles. Today, Olson prides himself in designing original high-end residential and commercial architecture and manages his firm Olson Architects.
